Dawn Williams (Founder)
Dawn is not your average CFO. Raised on a farm in Northern California, her family was a proponent of sustainable living before there was really a name for it. A dedicated competitive swimmer in her youth, she developed a passion for travel and adventure. She spent several years as a successful dairy farmer in New Zealand while earning a BA in business from the University of Southern Queensland. After five years with PriceWaterhouse in both the audit and accounting divisions, she shifted her focus to finance and operations as a turnaround and growth specialist. Adventure led to operational finance and audit in the Caribbean, New Jersey and back to California again. With over 25 years’ experience in financial management, business systems and controls, she can create innovative solutions for executing your business model. Far more than mere financial score keeping, Dawn's passion is for building smart, well-run businesses and positioning them for long-term success.
Theresa Bui, CPA (Accountant)
Theresa is a native Californian who lived in both Illinois and Texas as a child before returning to California in high school. She earned a BA in Business Economics from UC Santa Barbara before joining the tax department at Touche Ross in San Jose, California. While at Touche Ross she became a Certified Public Accountant and earned an MS in Taxation from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. She then operated her own tax practice from 1990 to 2003 when her family had an opportunity to live in Switzerland for a year. Since returning from Europe, she had her own accounting business working with small companies and non-profits. In 2019 she spent a year working with a startup company that worked with Catholic schools and churches implementing remote accounting systems.
Olivia Bui (Accounting Operations Innovator)
While Olivia was born and raised in the Bay Area for most of her life, she is also a citizen of Switzerland. Because of this, she likes to joke that money management is in her genes. In high school, Olivia maintained a leadership scholarship as the acting Treasurer of Venture Crew 697 for all four years.
With most of her college experience being taken over by Covid-19, Olivia turned her focus to her education and mental health. During the summer of 2022, she worked for Gate Financial Services for the first time as an accounting intern. Soon after, she graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno a semester early with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
Olivia has since rejoined the Gate Financial Team as an AR & Billing Specialist. When she’s not behind her computer, Olivia can be found wrapped in a blanket with a crochet hook in hand.
Charlotte Hunter (Data Analyst)
Charlotte was born in New Zealand and raised in Northern California. In high school she was a member of the varsity swim and cross country teams, and graduated with academic honors.
She is a senior at the University of California - San Diego, working towards her degree in Business Economics. In addition to her BS, Charlotte is expanding her education to include minors in Business Psychology and Law. She is a varsity member of the NCAA Division I Rowing Team.
Charlotte joined the Gate Financial team in June 2022 as a summer intern. She continues to work on pro-bono clients and data projects during the school year.
